nickstrocchia > I took this on the tarmac before departing for my 2006 deployment overseas, the halogen lighting and high ISO turned out to be a great combination. I remember that when I was lining up for this shot a lot of my enlisted friends took cue and started to snap away, but came under fire by some of the other officers. I went to bat for them, but ended up getting hassled after I boarded the jet. I think in the end it was well worth the effort.
nickstrocchia > Two valves per cylinder on this V12 Jaguar.
nickstrocchia > Vegas has some incredible sunrises, along with just about any other extremely dry climate, so it was a nice surprise to catch these clouds rolling off the field. I snapped this shot just as we were about to get back on the jet and head back to Robins AFB and am really glad that I had my SLR on me, right place right time!

nickstrocchia > I think this is a great picture; I had to shoot it with a slow shutter speed and unfortunately a high aperture (my mistake). Luckily the ISO was high enough that not too many details were lost and the background came out will with the girls reaching out for the bouquet.

nickstrocchia > Opposite is SSgt Clint Yancey, this dude is always upbeat and a ton of fun to be around.
nickstrocchia > I was very pleased to see the details of the adjacent building show through the windows. I rented two Elichrome 600w monotube flash heads, along with two large white soft boxes to illuminate the interior. The problem came into arrangement and how not to get them to bounce off the rear windows. Some more careful maneuvering was involved and eventually the room began to work for me.
nickstrocchia > This is hands down my favorite shot from the set. There are a lot of cool elements in play here; the blue night sky, colorful bricks in the foreground, streaks from the car tail lamps, over exposed street lamps, warm colors coming from the interior of the building...I could go on, but I'd rather have you enjoy it yourself!
