nickstrocchia > First of a few exterior shots, the building sits on an east/west axis, which made it difficult to find a predominantly exposed side. This shot came out well and I was able to maintain a good vertical line on the left hand side of the building.

nickstrocchia > Polarization filters can provide some cool effects, such as the clear building reflected in the glass. With a couple turns of the filter, a whole new photograph emerges.

nickstrocchia > Wolfgang Puck restaurant that is situated at the base of the Newseum residences.

nickstrocchia > I like this exterior shot, the foreground is underexposed, but the larger portion of the building has a nice golden reflection from the overcast mid morning sky.

nickstrocchia > The sun was getting higher here and was starting to break well over the other side of the Newseum itself. The original shot came out way underexposed, but with some tweaking a (literally) cool shot emerged.

nickstrocchia > Very interesting lines surround all points of the Newseum.

nickstrocchia > Another one of my favorite exterior shots.

nickstrocchia > Shot mid day with a really high aperture an external flash. The colors in the granite and the brick came out really well after a bit of Photoshop magic.

nickstrocchia > I like how the colors came out in the building and the sky. I tried to match the two as closely as possible and think I came pretty close.

nickstrocchia > This exterior shot was very trying since it was about noon and extremely hot on an all concrete deck. The overcast sky didn't present the best backdrop, but with some careful maneuvering of the deck furniture a great picture came out.

nickstrocchia > Another angle from the flower garden against the fence.

nickstrocchia > I was very pleased to see the details of the adjacent building show through the windows. I rented two Elichrome 600w monotube flash heads, along with two large white soft boxes to illuminate the interior. The problem came into arrangement and how not to get them to bounce off the rear windows. Some more careful maneuvering was involved and eventually the room began to work for me.
