After getting out of Alaska (sob) we finally arrived in South Korea for our month long air exercise. What an amazing country, even though we were confined to the base much of the time due to our flying schedule. I did manage to get out and explore the country for a few days; one complaint I had was that it was overcast or raining the whole time I was there! Still didn’t stop me, I tucked my KM 5D into a plastic bag and pressed on!
This was another shot I was lucky enough to get because of my military status. There’s an Army base that sits barely south of the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) that is shared with the ROK (Republic of Korea) Army. These guys are hardcore! They will stand guard 24 hours a day 7 days a week in this modified Tae Kwon Do stance to intimidate the North Korean guard on the other side of the DMZ. I caught this one ROK guard turning to look over his shoulder before the changing of the guard.
