I’ve been boxing at Knox Box/Third Power Fitness for about eight months when I decided to finally bring my camera in. I was sick one day and had been thinking about it for some time, and I was glad that I did. It was one of the hardest shoots for me since the lighting is low all over the place. There are halogen and incandescent bulbs, plus natural light to deal with combined with lenses that aren’t all that fast. It was interesting and towards the end of the shoot I was starting to get the hang of the hot and cold spots throughout the ring. Biggest lesson learned, leave on my prime lens (50mm 1.7), I went back and forth and my prime was the best performer out of the lot. There are various descriptions peppered througout the gallery, so take some time to check 'em all out.
A funny thing about the boxing gym is the plethora of personalities that come in to train there. Here’s a shot of Bruce who is the founder of Leader Bridge (
http://leaderbridge.com/) and the coach of the Georgetown team. He’s a great guy, and a huge contributor the gym, and he loves black and whites of himself!
